Cold-Hearted

I stare at you coldly as I walk away
Your smile, so alluring, once stopped me dead
Let silence be the last act of our play
We both spoke words we did not mean to say
The gods made our worlds collide head-to-head
I stare at you coldly as I walk away
The throbbing pain in my heart won’t always stay
The Fates weaved love and hate into their thread
Let silence be the last act of our play
Should I learn to guard my heart from now? Nay.
No one will ever see my tear drenched bed
I stare at you coldly as I walk away
The memory of us will soon fade away
And a fragile new love will erupt instead
Let silence be the last act of our play
Warm ripples of laughter brighten my day
A new star in the sky explodes in red
I stare at you coldly as I walk away
Let silence be the last act of our play
