Sai Baba, one of the most revered and famous worldwide gurus in India, died yesterday at age 84. Although I am not a devotee of Baba, he influenced my life in many ways. Thanks to him I met my husband. His death is being mourned by his followers worldwide and in India where public television broadcasts a nonstop coverage on Sai Baba. Dalai Lama expressed his condolence message saying that he is “saddened by the passing away of the great spiritual leader”.
Sai Baba was a spiritual teacher to thousands if not millions of followers in many countries around the world. His teachings were based on love, truth, nonviolence, peace and right conduct. He never steered people away from their religion and never tried to establish his own. Instead, he taught through his own example saying that “My life is my message”.
Peace be with you, Sai Baba.
