Science. I was always fascinated by art and science has not been on my plate at all. Well, yes, I was in schools so obviously I licked some of it here and there but truly I was never into it. Except for one time only when my rather eccentric teacher of physics in high school ordered us to go to a series of lectures on Universe. This was more than a looong time ago. Now my super curious scientific daughter is challenging my preferences and forcing me to get out of my shell and see the beauty and simplicity of science.
It all started with her keen interest in our Solar System but soon she was exploring the life cycle of stars and now she is moving on to black holes. In order to understand better her favorite subjects, I am reading and educating myself, too. It actually is extremely exciting, this science thing. Now I finally understand why people like it. Science is beautiful and simple. And it can be only that if you are interested to explore it. All my life science was something that HAD to be learnt and not enjoyed. I see clearly the difference between my learning and my daughter’s. She is only liking it because it is her favorite subject. Now, I am able, for the first time ever, perhaps, to approach it with open mindedness that I clearly had been lacking in my school years. As I am studying it out of my own curiosity and for my pleasure, it all seems connected and simplistic. I love the way all the pieces of information interconnect and create endless possibilities to further investigate.
